Hooray bummer

So the federal government is surging ahead with removing discrimination against same sex couples.

That's great.

(Wistfully) Although I am going to miss my single parents' pension...

*Note: we have been very active in lobbying for this; we met the federal sex discrimination commissioner last week and tomorrow Lovergirl is off to meet with the Qld Minister for Children and Young People, about state-based discrimination. So I've been putting my little ole pension on the line for some time.

**Note 2: One of the people in our lobby group is a relative of someone high up in the new Labor government. I reckon that's had more impact than all our boring petitions and long-winded meetings.

Yep, I know what you mean. We'll miss ours too but it's all for the greater good and long term it's a very good thing.

Good for you working on the QLD government!

Is the pension definitely a goner?

The petitions matter.
